Since 1954, Hotel Manteo has been an anchor of hospitality on Roanoke Island, and since 1587 Roanoke Island has been a site of historical and cultural significance. Home to generations of North Carolina’s Croatan tribe, in 1587 the “Lost Colony” touched down on Roanoke Island, setting off a series of events that would capture the world’s imagination for centuries.
